An upcoming wedding is the ultimate weight-loss motivator. But many brides-to-be resort to fad diets and end up disappointed with the results — either they don’t lose the weight, or their health and energy are lost along with it.
Finally, in “The Wedding Dress Diet,” Robyn Flipse describes a sensible plan that readers with one year, six months, or three months to go before the big day can follow to lose weight sensibly so they’ll took and feel terrific when they say “I do.” Combining good nutrition, exercise, and stress-reduction techniques, the book helps frantic fiancees cope with the frenzy of fittings, showers, and shopping dates. Not only does it outline an effective eating and exercise program geared to the date of the ceremony, but it also provides everything from bridal registry ideas for outfitting a slim kitchen to tips on choosing the most flattering dress, no matter your weight.
Diet books come and go, but “The Wedding Dress Diet” is the one that every bride — and many bridesmaids and mothers-of-the-bride, too — will want to own.

Guys, how do you feel TOWARDS your wife after getting married… just before the wedding (months/weeks or days) she freaks out and does ANYTHING to loose weight to fit in a beautiful dress…. Then after the wedding it’s like a jiffy pop popper… Is that OK for you or does that make you feel like CRAP? Do you think this is a partial reflection of her respect towards you or do you just enjoy the cute skinnier wedding picks too? How do you feel about this?
Sorry folks, maybe I did not make it clear – I am addressing the weight loss JUST for the wedding and gain JUST after… not the life long wedding commitment etc…
I don’t think most of you woman even read the whole question!!! Wow, talk about immediate defensive mode after seeing just a title!!!
I agree… it is now obvious ot me that my choice of words has been poor…maybe I’ll sit back and reword and ask later. After my first "additionall info" the answers seem to get my question and there are good answers in the last half! I think the 1st half of answers are due to my poor wording…
I’m going to take a look and pick the best, then re-write the Q and try to be more even keeled to get better results
well, gonna let the 4 hour clock run down and then chose…
Too all… sorry to cause stress here… Thanks for answering!
I.AM.CAM very good point! We men are probably worse than you ladies all around
I Need a vacation – thanks for pointing out my question flaws – nice constructive critism happily accepted.
Kiki – based on your pic, you got the issue covered all around. great answer too…
Mis Butterfly – have a great wedding.. stay happy!
Nova_Que… Never a prob with step 1 or 3… it is just 2 that bothered me…
And LTV I see your point with clarity
Every girl wants to be smaller on the wedding day, those pics are EVERYWHERE. At your house, the mums, the dads, the grammas. Girls are just that way, they can look back at a pic and say…oh I was so big…..and hahaha they were way smaller in the pic. It is just the nature. Join a gym and then ask her if she wants to go with you…don’t dare tell her she needs to though. Good luck. I actually understand your idea.

i am happy with my weight just scared im going to gain because im nervous lol and quick diets?
Don’t do the Slimfast stuff. I know of someone who got ill doing that and you certainly don’t want to be sick on your wedding day. I would eat my biggest meal for lunch and then eat a salad at night. Stay away from desserts and alcohol. If you really need sugar or salty snacks go to www.weightwatchers.com and buy a box or two of their treats. They really are delicious and don’t taste like ‘diet’ treats. And, no, I don’t work for weight watchers lol
